Danish brand Bang & Olufsen has debuted a new updated version of its Beoplay A9 speaker with a special exhibition at the Venice Biennale. Originally launched back in 2012, the wireless Beoplay A9 can be used as either a freestanding speaker or hung from the wall.
Arguably the stand-out feature of the updated Beoplay A9 is the addition of Google Assistant functionality. Additionally, the speaker has also been equipped with “Active Room Compensation,” which optimizes the output based on its surroundings, and two additional full range drivers to increase the soundscape.
The circular speaker will be available in four different versions, including white with oak legs, black with black walnut legs and special-edition bronze or brass tones. Additionally, the Beoplay A9 can be customized with different wooden legs and textile covers designed by Kvadrat.
Bang & Olufsen’s new generation Beoplay A9 is set to hit the brand’s physical locations, web store and select stockists on May 14. The wireless speaker will be available for £2250 GBP (approx. $2950 USD).
