Dave Bautista Is Kumail Nanjiani's Uber Passenger From Hell in 'Stuber'
The latest buddy cop comedy.
Wrestler-turned-comedy star Dave Bautista has a lot of projects in store for him this year. After getting a peek at his upcoming role in My Spy, Bautista is also slated to star alongside Kumail Nanjiani in 20th Century Fox’s Stuber.
The comedy will see Nanjiani as an LA-based Uber driver who inadvertently gets himself involved with deadly criminals, shootouts and crime once he opts to pick up a cop, played by Bautista.
Former mixed martial artist and bodybuilder Bautista has been making a name for himself in the film industry due to his role’s in Marvel’s hit franchise Guardians of the Galaxy and his minor role in Blade Runner: 2049. Nanjiani on the other-hand, came into prominence after his leading role in the Academy Award nominated film, The Big Sick; he also recently starred in an episode of Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone.
Look for the latest buddy cop comedy Stuber to arrive July 12. The film also stars Iko Uwais (The Raid), Natalie Morales (Parks and Recreation), Betty Gilpin (Isn’t It Romantic?), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal), Mira Sorvino (Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion) and Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy).

“When a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) picks up a passenger (Dave Bautista) who turns out to be a cop hot on the trail of a brutal killer, he’s thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he desperately tries to hold onto his wits, his life and his five-star rating.”
