Y-3 Presents '80s-Inspired "Yohji Love" Capsule Collection
Featuring a number of reworked classics.
Yohji Yamamoto has looked into the adidas archive for the latest Y-3 capsule titled “Yohji Love.” Looking to pieces from the ’80s, the capsule combines a cursive hand-painted styled “Love, Yohji Yamamoto” graphic with the Three Stripes synonymous with the collaborative collection, delivering a range of apparel, accessories and sneakers.
For Spring/Summer 2019, the collaboration sees two pairs of Y-3 YOHJI SUPER’s in black and white with contrasting calligraphy adorning its toe box. Sans-stripes, the modernized adidas Superstar 80s features bold contrast Y-3 branding on the heel tab, an embossed Y-3 logo on the premium leather tongue, and is rounded off by a clean leather shell-toe.
Elsewhere the collection sees more archival adidas reworks including the California Tee and the Firebird Jacket, both of which rework the 1980s adidas aesthetic. Stand-out pieces from the collection see Yamamoto step away from the sportswear influence, with more-formal button-down shirts featuring the rear ”Love, Yohji Yamamoto” graphic and a duo of bags serving as Y-3’s lead offerings.
Take a look at the entire collection above, and head to at Y-3 flagship stores and Y-3.com on April 11 to shop the capsule.
