Prada Goes Sci-Fi for the Cloudbust Thunder Sneaker

With rubber lugged soles that channel Frankenstein.

The Prada Cloudbust sneaker has become a cult favorite since debuting for Spring/Summer 2018, and this season it’s getting a futuristic update. Dubbed the Prada Cloudbust Thunder, the next iteration of the sneaker stays in line with the themes of the house’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection. The new shape’s design is informed by nuances from Frankenstein, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and supernatural flicks. For the Cloudbust Thunder, that plays out as a hybrid of refined sportswear and sci-fi flair. The reimagined shoe is characterized by rubber lugs on the sole with a tech-forward injected upper to create its bold 3-D look and feel.

Placed in a contrasting minimalistic environment, the bold colors and textures of the Cloudbust Thunder come to the forefront. The latest lookbook plays with proportions, pairing the silhouette with furry-shouldered loose cardigans and high-waisted trousers from the collection to create a look resembling a runway-ready version of Looney Tune’s Gossamer.

Browse the visuals above and head over to Prada’s website to pre-order the Cloudbust Thunder for $895 USD.
