The trailer moves from an analogue Super 8 format to a more digital format at the end, adding a sense of nostalgia and intimacy to the film.
ORIGINAL STORY (April 8 2019): Streaming giants, Netflix, have teased a new Beyoncé tour documentary, reportedly focusing on her 2018 performance at the Coachella. The award-winning musician is enjoying a great week after announcing her latest partnership with adidas and winning Entertainer of the Year at the NAACP Image Awards.
Teased on Twitter, the tweet exhibited a simple yellow title card with the word Homecoming on it, utilising fraternity-style typography for the E and O’s. The glorious yellow and college theme reflects one of the outfits worn by the singer during her Coachella performance, recognising historically black colleges and universities. As Beyoncé also announced the Homecoming Scholars Awards Program to coincide with the event, celebrating her milestone as the first black woman to headline Coachella.
The Homecoming documentary will be available to stream on Netflix on April 17.
