adidas Hits the Track With Bold Red Racing-Themed NMD R1
Racing stripes take over the Three Stripes.
adidas continues to evolve its NMD line for Spring/Summer 2019 with the release of a stripped-back racing-inspired NMD R1 sneaker, seeing a mixture of Primeknit and premium materials rework the silhouette.
A bold red Primeknit upper is paired with off-white suede eyelets, a complementing embossed leather heel tab and “The Brand With the Three Stripes” tape, all sat atop a serving of clean white BOOST cushioning which is set off by a contrast off-white outsole. Exposed stitching in both white and off-white outlines the sneakers construction, with the iconic Three Stripes branding defined by minimalist single-stitched lines.
Switching it up for SS19 is the new racing-inspired tongue tab, replacing the standard Trefoil branding with a sporty take on the adidas branding and “3003” typography.
You can expect this latest adidas NMD R1 iteration to drop sometime this April on adidas.com and select retailers worldwide.
In other adidas news, the sneaker giants recently revealed a duo of “Stars and Stripes” UltraBOOST’s, which are slated for a Summer 2019 release.
