Kendrick Lamar Signs Long-Term Deal With BMI
Is he getting started on a ‘DAMN.’ follow up?

Hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar is officially part of performing rights organization Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). The rapper has inked a long-term deal with BMI, effectively transferring the performing rights of his entire discography.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Kendrick to the BMI family and expand our great working relationship with Top Dawg Entertainment and its incredibly talented roster,” Mike Steinberg, EVP Creative & Licensing, said in a press release. “Kendrick’s gift for writing and performing such stunningly impactful music has solidified his stature among the world’s greatest artists and, without a doubt, as a major force in our industry for many years to come. We’re honored that he has chosen BMI to represent his creative works.”
While he greatly denied rumors of an upcoming album, his move to BMI may be a faint signal to a DAMN. successor. Kung Fu Kenny joins fellow Top Dawg Entertainment signees ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock and SZA already in the BMI lineup.
