After releasing a closer tease of the collection last month, IKEA and Sonos have now officially revealed their full SYMFONISK collaboration at Milan Design Week. The range features two pieces — a table lamp and a book-shelf — both of which are also WiFi speakers complete with Sonos’ signature audio technologies.
For the design of the table lamp, IKEA and Sonos took inspiration from fireplaces to create an item that mixes sound and light to create different moods. The SYMFONISK book shelf-speaker can be fixed either horizontally or vertically, and can be attached to most rails with hooks. When fixed with a bracket, the shelf can hold up to 3kg of weight.
Both SYMFONISK products are compatible with other Sonos pieces, and can be controlled through the brand’s app. While no official release date for the collection has been announced, IKEA has revealed that the book-shelf speaker will be priced at £99 GBP ($99 USD) and the table lamp speaker comes in at £150 GBP ($179 USD).
