Following the recent teaser that Footpatrol and Converse would come together once again for another collaboration, the legendary London-based sneaker shop has delivered a full look at its upcoming vintage take on collegiate sportswear.
Reworking the Chuck 70 and Jack Purcell for Spring/Summer 2019, Footpatrol references the two icons’ classic American sporting heritage by wrapping both pairs in authentic collegiate-inspired colorways and fabrics. The Chuck 70 sees asymmetrical loopback fleece and satin construct its panelled upper, with transparent graphic-adorned basketball outsoles, silver eyelets and a rear cream and orange tape deliver further nods to its collegiate background.
The Jack Purcell references its badminton heritage, sporting another asymmetrical split of wool and loopback. In contrast to the Chuck 70, the Jack Purcell is more refined and features leather touches throughout, as well as orange detailing on the iconic “smile” toe cap.
Rounding off the collection is a collaborative collegiate-inspired hoodie, sporting elements from both pairs of Converses. Chest and back panel branding is appliquéd throughout, making for a hoodie that is intended to be reversible.
