adidas Originals Taps Into the Creative Process With New Nite Goods Capsule Collection
Plus, the opportunity to win the pack.
Following the release of the Nite Jogger, adidas Originals unveils the Nite Goods Capsule Collection. In addition the 80s-inspired reflective sneaker — which returns in a flurry of new shades — the release also delivers a series of bedtime-related collectibles, which are a nod to the shoe’s nighttime functionality.
Among the limited edition items included in the collection are a bedtime book, titled Go To Bed, Sneakerhead, and the NiteBear plush animal. Written by Fabian Gorsler and illustrated by Dan Freebairn, the anti-bedtime story is intended for the late night creators who are pushing past creative blocks to meet deadlines, tapping into the pangs of attempting to sleep at a reasonable hour. Handmade by Junichi Nakane, the NiteBear is an anti-cuddly stuffed animal, who literally screams inspirational quotes, voiced by comedian Eric André. The Kumanokoido bear is half–drill sergeant and half–motivational speaker, and emits phrases such as, “You sleep on my watch, and my watch is broken.” What’s more, adidas is offering the opportunity to win the entire pack via an online sweepstakes.
As for the shoe itself, this version comes in grey, pastel greens and orange accents, and features its signature lightweight nylon ripstop and soft mesh knit. Originally designed for night exploration on the asphalt, the Nite Joggers’ hi-vis reflectivity continues to serve its purpose in the dark. The shoe is complete with a BOOST midsole and “speed of nite” embroidered in morse code on its outsole and tongue.

The video incorporates the coveted Nite Goods in a montage of late night television commercials and trippy visuals targeted for insomniacs. The Nite Goods sweepstakes will remain open through April 7. The sneaker by itself will be available in stores globally on Thursday, April 11.
