'Brian Banks' Tells the Real Life Story of a Wrongfully Accused Football Star
Starring Aldis Hodge and Greg Kinnear.
Having already made its debut at the Los Angeles Film Festival last year, indie true life drama Brian Banks is now set for a wider theatrical release.
Directed by Tom Shadyac, (known for Ace Ventura, Liar Liar and Patch Adams) the film is a look at the real life story of Banks, an all-American high school football star, who was wrongfully accused of a crime he didn’t commit and how he he made it through a broken legal system. After a decade spent wrongfully behind bars, Banks fights to reclaim the life he lost with a dream of playing in the NFL. “How did you survive it?” “Almost didn’t…” the stars can be heard saying in the trailer above.
Aldis Hodge stars as the pivotal character with a supporting cast of Greg Kinnear, Melanie Liburd, Tiffany Dupont, Sherri Shepherd, Matt Battaglia, Xosha Roquemore, Dorian Missick, and Dean Denton.
Look for Brian Banks to hit theaters August 9.
