Earth Prepares for Battle in Final 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' Trailer
As Zilla takes on King Ghidorah.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have just released the final trailer for their highly-anticipated Godzilla revamp, King of the Monsters.
The new two-minute clip takes on a similar vibe as the trailer released late last month, which also features an ominous rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. On the other-hand, the new breathtaking visuals showcase how Earth is gearing up for the big battle that’s to come, while elsewhere Godzilla’s fights against Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah are spotlighted. Slated to be taking a more darker turn than 2014’s version of Godzilla, the film’s new iteration will skew towards horror while the humans will play a more integral role.
The official synopsis for Godzilla: King of the Monsters reads as such:
“The new story follows the heroic efforts of the cryptozoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient superspecies, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Vera Farmiga and lands in theaters May 31. Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled for a 2020 release.
Millie Bobby Brown can then be seen on the small screen when season three of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things returns July 4.
