Samsonite Teams up With Filip Pagowski for the Xylem 2.0 Suitcase
The artist behind COMME des GARÇONS’ PLAY “Heart Logo.”

Samsonite looks to bring back its first aluminum suitcase with Polish graphic artist Filip Pagowski. First released in 1999, the Xylem was Samsonite’s first metal suitcase, and now after twenty years, Samsonite will reintroduce a revamped version of its anodized aluminum suitcase as the Xylem 2.0.
Before the craze of lightweight metal luggage, the Xylem was the case of choice for business travellers, and even featured in classic spy films — appearing in James Bond films The World is not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). Readying the SPINNER style suitcase for 2019, the Xylem 2.0 sees Click Pop lock hinges, an Aero-Trac suspension wheel system, and lined body construction that helps in strengthening the case body during heavy loading. To make the case your own, a special collection of graphic stickers designed by Filip Pagowski — the same artist that created COMME des GARÇONS PLAY’s colorful “Heart Logo” — will be included with each suitcase.
Available in 20-inch, 23-inch, and 28-inch size options, the Filip Pagowsk x Samsonite Xylem 2.0 suitcase will be releasing early April with a starting price of $4960 HKD (approximately $630 USD). The Xylem 2.0 is set to launch first in Hong Kong’s JOYCE on April 1.
For other colorful suitcase options, RIMOWA linked up with Alex Israel for its latest collaborative suitcase.
