Gucci has released its homage to the ’80s velvet tracksuit straight from its Spring/Summer 2019 runway. This set adopts a chenille-velvet construction wearing a retro mix of mahogany, chocolate brown and mustard yellow.

Crafted in Italy, both the jacket and sweatpants feature an embroidered interlinked “GG” logo and a blown out silhouette. The jacket features kimono sleeves, a stand collar and silver zipper hardware, altogether offering an ’80s-inspired bat-winged track jacket perfect for the SS19 transition. The sweatpants also showcase the 1980s influence, seeing a ballooned genie silhouette and a mid-rising waist. Delivering ultra-comfort, the sweatpants are finished with elasticated cuffs, slip pockets and a casual cotton drawstring around the waistline.

Both pieces are finished with clean white piping and are priced at £880 GBP (approx. $1500 USD) each. Head to retailers such as Browns to purchase one, or both pieces, of this luxurious take on the 1980s culture-shaping staple.
