Dior Revives Archive Cannage Print With Weekend & Shopper Bags for SS19
Complete with Kaws bees.
Kim Jones took Dior to the archives once again for a Spring/Summer 2019 bag collection inspired by the house’s iconic Cannage print, updating the bags with the Kaws bee appliqué.
Kim Jones and Kaws’ reworked “perfect weekend bag” and iconic shopper offer a duo that’s subtilely illusional and sophisticated, available in black and natural tan leather. The bags’ Cannage design crisscrosses like lace to partially reveal the internal cream canvas zip pouch.
Underneath the lattice design are numerous intricate Kaws bee emblems, a logo now synonymous with Kim Jones’ Dior line. The heritage design takes its inspiration from Napoléon III-influenced chairs used to seat guests at haute-couture shows at 30 Avenue Montaigne. It has been successfully reinterpreted onto two timeless classics for SS19 using laser cutting technology and each bag is finished by hand.
