Dance System Returns With "Wind Em Up"
Playful techno.
Brighton’s L-Vis 1990 has been at the forefront of dance music for over ten years, as one of the UK’s most progressive producers. Following a five-year break, James Connolly returns with the playful Wind Em Up EP, expected to release in April under his alias Dance System. The producer has been keeping himself busy in 2019, recently working with experimental Egyptian-Iranian musician, Lafawndah.
The title track, “Wind ‘Em Up”, playfully calls out other DJs to wind up the crowd with the unexpected UK garage breaks, adding a touch of colour to the running beat and guitar lick. The project is heavily influenced by Dance System’s Chicago heroes Dance Mania and Relief Records, however, making it distinctly his own.
Releasing on Modeselektor’s admired Monkeytown Records, Dance System’s offering is a playful take on the serious world of techno.
