Balenciaga Opens New London Store

Balenciaga has officially opened the doors to its second London store, with the Demna Gvasalia-helmed label heading to Chelsea in West London. The space — which used to house Ermenegildo Zegna’s store — is set over two floors, and features Gvasalia’s “retail warehouse” concept of industrial furniture, metal shelves and conveyor rails.

To mark the opening of the store, Balenciaga released 30 leather shopping tote bags printed “London” branding. The limited-edition bags were priced at £823 GBP (approx. $1090 USD).

Balenciaga is the latest luxury fashion house to open a new space on Sloane Street, following expansions from Fendi, Versace, Armani and Hermès. Burberry is also planning a new location at 1 Sloane Street to open in 2020.

In other fashion news, Prada’s value has fallen by $700 million USD.
