Acne Studios Visits 1990s American Archetypes for SS19 Denim Collection
Reworking and reinterpreting classic ’90s staples.
Acne Studios has released its Spring/Summer 2019 denim collection, taking references from its Swedish roots, ’90s American archetypes and workwear.
From reworked Acne Studios classics to an all-new up-cycled pair of jeans, the collection is comprised of straight cut silhouettes with the majority of looks in muted colors, with some pops of saturation intermittently. A selection of complimentary items such as a raglan hoodie, a patchwork T-shirt dress and a bucket hat made from reused denim round off the collection.
Key pieces from the SS19 collection include the patchwork jeans, which feature two tones of denim throughout in a number of different iterations, as well as the selection of oversized workwear-inspired denim jackets. Most notably of all is a saturated blue jacket with contrast white stitching, featuring two large chest pockets, gold buttons and complementing straight leg trousers.
The collection also features an elongated denim jacket, further tapping into workwear silhouettes, and for a ’90s Americana feel, a varsity jacket complete with distressed patches, striped ribbed cuffs, collar and waistband and contrast gold buttons.
