BILLY LOS ANGELES Delivers Strong Formal-Workwear With FW19 Collection
The LA imprint broadens its Western-inspired repertoire.
BILLY LOS ANGELES presents its Fall/Winter 2019 collection titled “THE POLICY OF MEMORY.” The capsule features knitwear, tailoring and Western-inspired workwear which showcases some of designer Holly Jovenall’s best work.
Standout items from the collection include a canvas trench coat which fuses formal attire with industrial workwear, the signature BILLY LOS ANGELES oversized ”THE POLICY OF MEMORY” hoodie, a white button-down shirt adorned with the sketchy “MY HOME IS YOUR HOME” charcoal drawing and a black and grey tie-dye flight jacket.
Talking of the collection, Jovenall says, “It’s inspired by the past, but I don’t live there [Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania] anymore… “I’m moving forward and moving the design forward. This is BILLY in 2055.”
The brand’s introduction of knits and tailoring includes Western-inspired intarsia knits with a singular contrast “B” logo, high collars and a loose, luxury construction. Suiting comes in the form of raw-hemmed, wide-leg military-inspired herringbone twill pants, as well as a blazer, more formal woollen trench coats and Western button-down shirts.
While there is no official drop date yet, take a look at the entire BILLY LOS ANGELES FW19 collection above.
In case you missed it, Burberry has apologized for its hoodie with noose design.
