Here's Why Season 10 of 'Love & Hip Hop: New York' Is the One to Watch
A look into the lives of Safaree, Joe Budden and Jim Jones.
Whether you’re a committed viewer who hasn’t missed a single episode of Love and Hip Hop: New York or are brand new to the show, the launch of season 10 is the best time to become a bonafide enthusiast of the series. Kicking off with back-to-back episodes on VH1 Monday, December 16, the forthcoming storylines from the unscripted show hit a sweet spot, featuring a highly entertaining mix of original vets and fan-favorite cast members.
Among the season’s highlights is the return to New York from original cast member Chrissy Lampkin, who has spent the last few years in Philadelphia. Since leaving the show after season two, Lampkin has made a name for herself as an entrepreneur and the founder of the all women investment group Millionaire Ladys Club. On LHHNY, we’ll also see her relationship — and longtime engagement — with rapper Jim Jones play out as she makes her way back to Harlem.
Season 10 is also the ideal time to take stock in rapper Remy Ma‘s story. Previous seasons have documented Ma’s comeback after a stint in prison. Now, freshly off parole, the Bronx native is going full steam ahead as a working mother and wife to fellow rapper Papoose. Another of the show’s power couples, rapper and producer Safaree and Erica Mena, will provide plenty of entertainment as they plan their fairytale wedding — the exclamation point on their quick engagement last year. But no nuptials are complete without contention, and the pair will have to tend to the Costa Rica blowout that ended season 9.
True to form, Love & Hip Hop: New York won’t be without drama. Case in point: the fallout from Joe Budden and Cyn Santana’s shattered relationship plays out in season 10. As does Kimbella’s struggle to balance work and family after her husband Juelz Santana started his prison sentence. On the opposite end, Yandy Smith-Harris attempts to find a new normal as her husband, the entrepreneur Mendeecees, returns from his own sentence. Rounding out the cast of characters are newcomers including the Brooklyn rapper PHresher and dancer-turned-rapper Jennaske.
Season 10 of Love & Hip Hop: New York kicks off on VH1 on Monday, December 16 at 8:00 PM EST. Head to VH1’s website for more info.
