LA-based artist Joshua Vides has teamed up with Woolrich on a collaboration spanning both outerwear and an in-store installation ideal for the holidays. The revised Woolrich space offers guests an up-close look at both attractions and even a snow-filled room for testing the high-spec outerwear.
Vides — who is known for his unique black-and-white marker style — has developed six jackets with Woolrich for his capsule. These customized GORE-TEX Storm Parkas adopt the monochromatic color scheme, with designs ranging from a black tree landscape to a jacket sporting a painted-on scarf.
Elsewhere, Vides delivers a starry night-inspired jacket, a campfire parka, a rib cage offering and a darker iteration sporting a wolf. Celebrating this collaborative collection is Vides’ installation at Woolrich’s New York flagship store, which sees black-outlined walls evoking a woodland cabin.
Furthermore, the new store also boasts a room filled with real snow, developed in partnership with Techno Alpin. The immersive experience allows visitors to put themselves in extreme weather conditions by walking into a blizzard-like atmosphere, in which falling snow and ice will surround them. This is a chance to put Woolrich’s winter-ready pieces to the test, as the room can dip to -20° Celsius.
The Joshua Vides x Woolrich GORE-TEX Storm Parkas retail for $1,500 USD each, with all of the proceeds going to The Bowery Mission. To experience the collection and snow room for yourself, head down to Woolrich on 121 Wooster Street, NY, where you’ll be able to buy the limited-edition parkas.
In other news, Slam Jam has teamed up with and wander for a winter-tackling collection.
