Nike Debuts Inclusive Full-Coverage Swimwear
Designed to give wearers freedom in the water.
After officially introducing the Nike Pro Hijab in late 2017, the sportswear brand has just unveiled its Victory Swim Collection which features a range of full-coverage swimwear.
The inclusive performance-driven range keeps diversity in mind and is comprised of four pieces — the Victory Swim Full-Coverage Swimsuit, Swim Hijab, Tunic Top and Swim Legging for women. Each piece has been fashioned from a lightweight and quick-drying warp-knit fabric and comes in either a blue or black colorway option. The Swimsuit and Tunic Top both have a built-in sports bra, while the Swim Leggings incorporate a streamlined construction that won’t slow wearers down. Finally the Hijab features an integrated mesh pocket to help keep hair in place. Additionally each piece offers a UPF 40+ rating for protection against the sun.
Inspiration for the collection began with the positive responses to the Nike Pro Hijab and Nike designer’s wanting to push innovations for athletes of all backgrounds, body types, and abilities. “The more we listened, the more possibility we saw to serve female athletes in new dimensions,” says Martha Moore, Nike Creative Director, VP. “As we continue broadening our vision for innovation, we’re excited to inspire more women to see themselves in sport by thinking creatively and designing inclusively. To us, Nike Victory Swim Collection shows the power of innovation to invite all women to discover the joy of sport.”
The Nike Victory Swim Collection will be available starting February 1, 2020 at select Nike retailers globally and nike.com.
