Nike Adds Two New Styles to Air Force 1 GORE-TEX Lineup
“Desert Orange” and “Obsidian”
Nike is bolstering the ranks of its popular Air Force 1 GORE-TEX with two new colors: “Desert Orange” and “Obsidian.” Although the throes of winter have descended upon most of the Western Hemisphere, these Forces are ready for the cold months ahead thanks to a weather-resistant combination of rugged materials and bold styling. All this is accomplished without altering the Air Force 1‘s iconic shape —- no small feat.
Constructed of supple leather and rugged GORE-TEX fabric, each pair touches down at a different spot on the color wheel. “Desert Orange” combines an autumnal burnt orange base with blaze orange accents and black branded hits. Meanwhile, the “Obsidian” opts for a look more oceanic in nature, mixing a dark blue base with a black sockliner and heel tab, while white Swooshes and GORE-TEX branding offer light contrast. Each pair also features two logos on its tongue, with both Nike and GORE-TEX’s signature marks receiving equal time to shine. Rubber midsoles and classic outsoles complete both looks and reinforce the utilitarian motif.
The Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX “Desert Orange” and “Obsidian” are both available now via Nike’s webstore and select stockists, with the MSRP for each pair set at $150 USD.
