Nike's New Weather-Ready ISPA Joyride Envelope Takes Center Stage in HAVEN Editorial
Take a closer look at the tactical ripstop-covered sneaker.
HAVEN has spotlighted the upcoming Nike ISPA Joyride Envelope ahead of the sneaker’s Canadian release at the store’s exclusive Toronto-based pop-up.
The Nike ISPA line brings functionality to the forefront, utilizing advanced materials and technical sneaker components to develop a variety of tactical, weather-ready silhouettes. Following on from the recently seen Nike Air Max 720 ISPA, HAVEN turns its focus to the ISPA Joyride Envelope, a utilitarian and futuristic ankle-high sneaker new from the Swoosh brand.
Nike has given the silhouette a ripstop-lined upper, which provides the shoe with its namesake envelope shape that allows easy on-and-off foot access. It has two functions depending on how you fasten the shoe, with one method offering breathability thanks to laser-cut perforations and the other offering optimum water resistance.
A secure fit is achieved via the velcro-assisted nylon straps, which further adds to the utilitarian aesthetic. Nike’s React midsole has been updated with Joyride beaded pockets at pressure points throughout the foot, while the toebox, heel counter and sidewalls have been given molded plastic inserts for a sturdier structure.
