adidas Celebrates Singles Day with New Rivalry Low
Featuring special details inspired by the popular Chinese holiday.
With China’s annual Singles Day festivities right around the corner, adidas Originals has readied a special take on the Rivalry Low to aid in the celebrations.
The low-top lifestyle shoe’s upper is dressed in a soft “Hi-Res Green” suede that toes the line between teal and jade, providing an elegant nod to classic Chinese sculpture. It’s also equipped with unique cloud graphics, embroidered in tonal fashion on the lateral heel and printed in gold foil on both sides directly under the gold eyelets. More printed gold detailing arrives via Chinese characters on the tongue and a Trefoil stamp on the heel. Down below, a translucent rubber midsole and outsole complete the look by adding further to the airy ethos.
The release takes place on November 11 — the 11th day of the 11th month when the number 1 supposedly represents a lonely individual — Singles Day is indeed the largest shopping day in the world, and this year its army of voracious buyers will be able to alleviate their collective loneliness with this unique iteration of an adidas classic.
The adidas Rivalry Low “Singles Day” released early at Solebox and is currently sold out, but you can expect it to hit other stockists on Singles Day, November 11. The retail price is set at $90 USD.
