Toga Virilis SS20 Keeps Preppy '50s Fashion Alive With Frills & Embellishments
Expect double-breasted suits, slick leather jackets & wide-leg pants, too.

Yasuko Furuta‘s label Toga Virilis has showcased its Spring/Summer 2020 menswear offerings in its latest lookbook.
Toga Virilis once again masters its eclectic yet contemporary aesthetic through 1950s-inspired pieces such as casual polo shirts and double-breasted suits styled on the late ’40s Zazaous era of Paris. It spans both casual and formalwear by introducing a romantic flair through its drizzler blouson and frilled shirts as well as bold patterns in its Palm tree embroidered shirt.
Elsewhere, SS20 presents sheer knitted shirts, bold motifs in its contrasting, multipanelled shirts, and heavy embroidery on its ’50s-styled jackets. Floral patterns are joined by muted colors for the label’s selection of relaxed tailored trousers, while camouflaged tie-dye is used for its line of bags and accessories.
Rounding out the SS20 Toga Virilis collection is a selection of metal embellished accessories, such as its Western-inspired belt which is joined by loop ties and animal motif metal pins. A selection of preppy garter belts, socks, ghillie shoes, boat shoes and loafers are also on offer this upcoming season.
