Citizen Immortalizes 'Star Wars' With Limited-Edition Watch Collection
Choose the light or dark side.
In celebration of Triple Force Friday, watch brand Citizen, in collaboration with Star Wars, introduces a selection of Eco-Drive timepieces inspired by the film’s most iconic characters. The limited-edition watches, fittingly powered by any light source, are presented here in a setting that evokes a modern Tatooine with Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker styled in sleek looks reminiscent of the garbs worn by the Jedi Knights and Sith. And for those looking for more options from the galaxy, Han Solo and Boba Fett, alongside a Death Star model that illuminates in the dark, are up for grabs.

One of the five Eco-Drives in the series has been inspired by Luke Skywalker. His days in the Rebel Alliance are referenced in stylistic details that mimic his pilot helmet. A 44mm stainless steel case and black dial are complemented by white indices and red and yellow coloring on the 1/5-second chronograph measuring up to 60 minutes and the 12/24-hour time and date. A Cordura strap matches the dark grey bezel. Any Star Wars-themed design wouldn’t be complete without a lightsaber, which is represented in the sweeping second hand.

Darth Vader’s dark palette swathes over the all-black timepiece, referencing the Dark Lord’s spirit. Lord Vader’s appearance informs the design details of the wristwatch. On the dial, allusions to the character’s ventilator system are presented with mesh material, accentuated by a steel case and bracelet. Tieing the inspiration together, nuisance characteristics such as the red and blue detailing — a nod to his chest module — the Imperial emblem and his chest rubbing pattern add a finishing touch to the model.
Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, the Death Star and Darth Vader iterations are limited to 1,977 pieces as a reference to the first movie’s release year, while 1,980 of the Boba Fett’s connect to his first appearance in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The timepieces will be available October 4 on Amazon.com. To learn more about the collection, visit Amazon.com/citizen.
