Rex Orange County Shares a New Track Off His 'Pony' Album, "Pluto Projector"
It’s been more than two years since his last LP.
One month after revealing plans for his new studio album Pony, Rex Orange County is delivering a new single in support of his next major project. Dubbed “Pluto Projector,” the record serves as the follow-up to last month’s “10/10” single.” Notably, today’s track and every other Pony composition was written, recorded and performed solo by its creator at East London’s Strongroom Studios. Ben Baptie, one of Rex Orange County’s closest collaborators, co-produced, engineered and mixed the multi-talented artist’s upcoming LP.
Concerning his forthcoming full-length release, Rex Orange County previously revealed to Billboard that he wanted to touch on “subjects that I haven’t covered as much, [because] some of the best songs aren’t actually love songs.
“More people are going to listen to it, so I do think about that shit — is this any good?” Rex Orange County added. “Are people going to be like, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard’? But I’ve got the time to do it right.”
You can check out Rex Orange County’s latest single “Pluto Projector” above, while Pony will see release on October 25. The itinerary for Rex Orange County’ upcoming tour is available for viewing below.
