Unveiled earlier in June, the young silhouette is made up of a slew of progressive materials that have been strewn together for a layered look. The shoes draw inspiration from the way custom bikes and cars are taken apart and reconstructed. This time around, an intricately mixed set of mesh, rubber and cotton layers have been colored in “Pure Platinum/Ocean Cube” and “Pure Platinum/Cool Gray.”
Joining the tongue and heel, the upper collars are made up of breathable mesh fabrics that have a sock-like fit. Flat laces grace the forefoot, looped through a lace cage that peers out from the translucent rubber overlays. The thin rubber surface starts from the heel and ends at the toe cap, stretching over the body to give it a protective water-resistant layer. All of these details are placed over an articulated midsole that comes with a molded TPU shank to provide optimal cushioning with each step.
The Nike Signal D/MS/X “Pure Platinum/Ocean Cube” and “Pure Platinum/Cool Gray” are currently available at nike.com for $132 USD.
