'SNL' Puts Together an Oscar the Grouch 'Joker' Parody
The next gritty anti-hero origin story.
Looking to offer its take on the interest surround Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix‘s Joker, Saturday Night Live created a parody centered around Oscar the Grouch of Sesame Street.
In the live-action gritty anti-hero origin story for the Muppet played by David Harbour, we meet a slightly unhappy garbage man overcome by a changing and forced to give into his grouchy nature. Harbour touches on some of the key scenes of the Joker to build his Oscar the Grouch character even stepping into a garbage can to make the transformation complete. The parody also sees familiar Sesame Street names like Big Bird, Elmo, Count von Count and Cookie Monster come to life in ridiculously dark representations.
