Riot Games has been on a roll as of late, announcing an array of new projects, like its upcoming League of Legends: Wild Rift, amongst others. On top of everything the gaming company has been working on, Riot Games is gearing up for this year’s upcoming Worlds Opening Ceremony. While last year’s event was kicked off with a performance by K/DA, a virtual K-pop girl group, this year’s ceremony will spotlight a digital hip-hop collective called True Damage tied to artists Becky G, Keke Palmer, SOYEON of (G)I-DLE, DUCKWRTH and Thutmose. Additionally, the skins of two in-game characters have been designed by Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director for Women’s Collections, Nicolas Ghesquiere.

True Damage will consist of League of Legends champions Qiyana, Senna, Akali, Ekko, and Yasuo, who will be projected at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France – Qiyana and Senna will be dressed in Prestige skins designed by Nicolas Ghesquière.

In a press release, lead producer of League of Legends Jessica Nam shared her appreciation for how big the game has grown. Adding on, Nam mentions: “Now it’s clear that gaming sits at the center of pop culture, and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with such great talent to showcase what League represents to the world.” The Worlds competition began earlier this year in Berlin and later moved to Madrid in the knockout stage; Paris will mark the finals. All skins worn on Team Damage will be available for purchase on the day of the event, except Senna’s Prestige Louis Vuitton skin, which will be released later on in early 2020, and Qiyana’s, only available by playing at the Worlds 2019 in-game events.

The 2019 Worlds Opening Ceremony will take place on November 10, with a live performance starting at 8 a.m. EST.

Elsewhere, leaks have suggested that Overwatch 2 will get a new game mode.
