To mark the end of season 10, Epic Games‘ popular battle royale-styled game Fortnite blew up and replaced itself with a black hole.

On Sunday, a huge asteroid blew up the map in Fortnite, which has now left many fans unable to play the game for hours. In addition, Fortnite has also deleted all of its tweets and is simply running a livestream of the black hole on Twitter, which can also be seen in the video posted above.

In a video captured by one fan, viewers can see the events leading up to the black hole. As rockets were blasted into the sky, a meteorite came crashing down on the map and completely destroyed the island and all the characters. Players online at the time were then sucked into a rift and the screen was replaced with a black hole in the centre.

Leading up to the event, many fans were preparing themselves for an epic end, but no one expected this to happen. There’s now speculation that there could be a new map/universe, or even something called Fortnite Chapter 2 on the horizon. Rumors are suggesting the game won’t return until Tuesday, October 15. Let us know your theories in the comment section below. Keep it locked here for more details when they surface.

Fortnite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and most mobile devices.

In case you’ve missed it, a new lawsuit claims Fortnite is “as addictive as cocaine.”
