Soulland Unveils VHS Rental Store-Inspired SS19 Lookbook
Entitled “VIDEO DEAD VOL. 1.”
Soulland has revealed its lookbook for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 season. The collection’s main inspiration was co-founder Jacob Kampp Berliner’s childhood, specifically, his dad’s VHS rental shop. The store had an eclectic array of titles, ranging from Sci-Fi and action comedy to erotic cinema and titles inspired by these disparate genres are infused throughout the collection.
The most literal place for these titles is on the tees and sweatshirts, where slogans from that era are embroidered onto sweatshirts. Elsewhere, the collection consists of coach jackets, denim jackets, printed shirts and tracksuits. Take a look through the gallery above to see the full range for yourself. Soulland’s SS19 collection is available at stores and on the brand’s webstore now.
In other news, RHUDE drew from a wide array of influences for its FW19 lookbook.
