Conor McGregor & Khabib Nurmagomedov Both Receive Suspensions for Post-UFC 229 Brawl
The fighters reveal their thoughts on the rulings.
According to reports, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has delivered suspensions to Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov for their part in the Post-UFC 229 brawl.
Nurmagomedov was given a heavier punishment of $500,000 USD taken from his $2 million USD win purse and a nine-month suspension from competition. McGregor received a six-month suspension with a $50,000 USD fine. Both of the suspensions are dated retroactively to October 6, the date of UFC 229.
Following his victory over McGregor at Madison Square Garden, Nurmagomedov scaled the octagon to go after McGregor’s camp for comments made before and during the fight. This caused an all-out brawl to break out in the stadium, which even saw McGregor being attacked inside the ring.
Both Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to reveal their thoughts on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s rulings.

I am thankful for the Nevada athletic commissions fair assessment and handling of the brawl incident.
It was not my intention to land the final blow of the night on my opponent’s blood relative. It’s just how it played out.
I look forward to competing again soon.
