Soulja Boy started off 2019 with a bang, releasing his own game console, calling himself the father of modern hip-hop and taking shots at some of the big names in music today including Kanye West, Ariana Grande, Drake, Tyga, Famous Dex and more.

In his latest interview at Big Boy’s Neighborhood on L.A.’s 92.3, Soulja added to his recent headlines by claiming that he’s the reason Quavo and Travis Scott‘s 2017 joint album Huncho Jack album exists. Soulja revealed that Quavo meeting Travis at his house was how their collaborative relationship began.

“[Quavo] was like ‘Who this little weird ***** is on the couch?’ I’m like ‘Boy, that’s Kanye West artist. You better get in tune. That’s Travis Scott.’ Fast forward to today we got Huncho Captain Jack – whatever collab album. That wouldn’t had happened without me!”

Later in the interview, the rapper continued to brag about the blueprint he created for the artists today, and how he paved the way for all the artists of today. Many believe that all of Soulja’s recent antics may simply be part of a promotion for his upcoming album, expected to drop sometime in the near future. In other news, DMX recently finished his prison sentence and is set to release a new album.
