Alec Ness Digs Into Electronic Music's Darkest Depths for "Harbinger"
A new single in support of his debut EP.
To support his debut EP, Temporary Awareness of Passing, genre-bending sound-sculptor Alec Ness serves up a new single “Harbinger.” With a background in punk-rock drumming and hip-hop beats, Ness aims to use his rhythmic sensibilities and command of melodies to create a blend of “UK garage, glassy ambience, and jagged synthwave.” With his upcoming project billed as a “dark eulogy of electronic music” with a “deconstructed club” sound, “Harbinger” — which is officially described as a mix of “arpeggiated synths, distorted drums” and “cold empty space” — is the perfect preview of what’s to come. “If someday we teach machines to feel heartache, their cries could sound a lot like this,” reads an official statement.”
You can stream Alec Ness’ new “Harbinger” single above, and expect his Temporary Awareness of Passing EP to arrive on February 21. For more, check out the video for his previous single, “Terrace,” below.
