Yang Li continues to build on his fictional band SAMIZDAT with this Fall/Winter 2019 “Cosmic Terror” collection lookbook. Meaning “self-publish” in Russian, the sub-label explores the hidden subcultures in print, music, and art.

Now on its seventh release, SAMIZDAT channels the dark side of metal music — black and industrial metal to be exact. In the collection, we see an array of large outerwear pieces including a military parka, the Type-II Denim Jacket, a belted military trenchcoat, an MA-1 bomber, and vintage oversized band tees. Leather makes a bold appearance in the form of pants, jackets, and accessories — each of the pieces from the collection brandish band iconography shown through print graphics and patches.

No word yet on if there will be a live experience tied to the “Cosmic Terror” series, much like the recent “Sonic Discipline” releases, but check out SAMIZDAT by Yang Li’s FW19 collection above and stay tuned for the release of the range.
