Rick Owens & Birkenstock Reveal Spring/Summer 2019 Collaboration

After linking up for the first time back in Spring/Summer 2018, Rick Owens and Birkenstock have returned for season two of their ongoing collaboration. For the latest joint release, Owens has continued to work with Birkenstock’s iconic sandal, as well as branching out into a new technical boot with the brand.

The three-silhouette collection includes Birkenstock’s Arizona and Rotterdam sandal styles, as well as the all-new Rotterhiker boot. A clear utilitarian theme runs through the collection, with metal buckles and velcro straps appearing across all three silhouettes. The capsule comes in a color palette of black and off-white, complete with some muted metallic tones.

The new capsule will release at a series of pop-up events, beginning with Le Bon Marché in Paris on January 17, followed by I.T in Hong Kong (January 23) and Shanghai (January 25). After this the collection will hit the Birkenstock web store and official Rick Owens site on February 8, with prices ranging from €287 EUR (approx. $430 USD) to €522 ($780 USD). New collaborative Spring/Summer 2019 styles are set to be debuted in March this year.
