Astrid Andersen Elevates FILA's Sportswear Heritage With FILA Fjord FW19 Collection
Elevating the label’s sportswear heritage.
After announcing the new FILA Fjord line last year, Astrid Andersen and FILA officially debuted their new creative vision at Pitti Uomo. The Fall/Winter 2019 collection was described as “elevating the brand heritage,” as well as taking inspiration from FILA’s “Measure of Perfection” slogan.
The first FILA Fjord collection mixes references to FILA’s sportswear heritage — including technical outerwear and jersey textures — with tailored coats and knitwear pieces constructed from natural cashmere. Launching the collection, Andersen described it as “contemporary designer wear” as well as adding “I have always pushed the sportswear category that bit further in this respect and translating this idea through a brand as familiar as FILA with FILA Fjord epitomises that philosophy.”
