Virgil Abloh Teases Off-White™ x BAPE Sneaker at LV Fashion Show
Abloh is at it again.
Virgil Abloh shared the highly-anticipated follow up to his Spring/Summer 2019 debut with Louis Vuitton. While the Michael Jackson-inspired pieces were sported by Sheck Wes and serenaded by the likes of Dev Hynes and Ian Isiah, Abloh planted a subtle easter egg at the show’s conclusion in the form of an Off-White™ x BAPE preview. Abloh traditionally closed the show by thanking the audience while sporting a pair of kicks fairly similar to the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Black.”
This time around, the black and white sneaker Abloh wore was a BAPE STA Low sporting either crocodile or alligator skin. Like the aforementioned Swoosh collab, its medial side is designed with Off-White™’s signature industrial branding and a profound “SHOELACE” stamp on the white laces. The stamp calls out BAPE’s “Tokyo” location and the year of establishment — 1993.
