UPDATE 1/17/2019: ALYX designer Matthew M. Williams has just announced on his IG account that his second collection with Nike will be available to buy at a temporary store this weekend in Paris. The release coincides with ALYX’s runway show presentation which takes place this coming Sunday. The pop-up, however, will be available to the public on Saturday, the 19th at the address provided below on Williams’s post. Expect footwear and clothing from the “TRAINING SERIES 002.” On February 7, the collection will launch in stores globally.
First seen back in June, Matthew M. Williams took to Instagram this past weekend to showcase his unique 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike sneaker.
Fitting a plastic shell over a trail runner-like silhouette, the shoe boasts an expansive array of customizable details. The outer casing utilizes a rugged Vibram outsole for added durability while straps help keep the two components together. The sneaker itself appears to be an ankle-high, monochrome model that blends leather and mesh, along with ultra-thin laces that recall the Boa Fit lacing system. Lastly, a zipper entry allows for easy access, and an oversized white Swoosh adds visual appeal to the medial side.
The collaborative sneaker is likely to hit 1017 ALYX 9SM’s website early next year. Check it out below.
Most recently, 1017 ALYX 9SM launched a tall, sock-like hiking boot for Fall/Winter 2018.
