Netflix Releases Trailer for Its Behind-The-Scenes Documentary on Fyre Festival
Last year’s mayhem inspired a documentary.
Netflix released a trailer for its newest documentary, one that goes behind-the-scenes to discover what really went down at the doomed Fyre Festival event from last year. A lot of the trailer focuses on the event’s co-founder, Billy McFarland, who was convicted of fraud following the festival’s fallout and is currently serving six years in prison.
The documentary showcases several interviews that delve into how McFarland gained investments by making false claims and assurances he couldn’t keep. His lies ended up garnering support from models like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Baldwin for the mysteriously high-class event, as well as securing Ja Rule as an organizer.
We also get a look at the island event itself, which featured piles of mattresses in the rain, shocked reactions of attendees touching down for the first time, and first-hand depictions of the Lord of Flies-esque mayhem that ensued.
Check out Fyre when it drops on Netflix January 18.
