Givenchy FW19 Breathes Life Into Tailoring & Sportswear Staples
Progressive silhouettes via cutting-edge textiles.

Clare Waight Keller delivers a powerfully sophisticated Givenchy Fall/Winter 2019 collection, blending the house’s refined tailoring with updated sportswear layers. The resulting fusion yields retro suiting updated with contemporary accents, a wardrobe for the modern man.
Pops of pink, red, blue and yellow undermine the muted palette at the heart of the collection, with trim black suits and dark denim ensuring that even the more over-the-top items (leather trench coats included) remain grounded. Wardrobe staples are given the couture treatment, with sequined jackets, crinkled leather outerwear and bonded waffle wool coats epitomizing Givenchy’s approach to hands-on craft. Voluminous silhouettes are abetter with cropped puffer jackets and hooded anoraks so as to provide a sporty contrast to the more restrained camel coats and hourglass-waist double-breasted jackets; sporty bags and motocross-inspired pullovers aid in fulfilling the theme.
