Yungeen Ace Pays Tribute to his Late Brother in "2X Screamin'" Video
The record was produced by DeeMarc.
Rising Florida rapper Yungeen Ace releases the video for “2X Screamin,” which pays tribute to his late brother Tre’Von Quan Quan “2X” Bullard. The DeeMarc-produced single is a standout off his latest project, Life I’m Livin and finds Ace rhyming from 2X’s perspective as he looks down from heaven on his younger brother’s skyrocketing career, noting the ways Ace has changed since the fateful day this past June. The video also features documentary footage from Ace’s life between the shooting last June and the time of his release from jail this two weekends ago.
“While I was sitting down, I really got time to think about my next move,” Yungeen Ace said to HYPEBEAST. “I wasn’t supposed to survive what I been through but I know I’m here for a reason.”
The video was produced by Adam Ben and Cinematic TV, with editing from Josh Forman. Last year, Yungeen Ace dropped his Life of Betrayal tape in August and followed that up with his latest project, Life I’m Livin.
If you’re unfamiliar with Yungeen Ace’s story, it’s a heartbreaking one. On June 5, he was leaving the Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse in Jacksonville, Fla. when a car pulled up next to his and opened fire. The outcome was tragic, Ace lost his brother Trevon Bullard, 18, and two friends, Royale D’Von Smith Jr.,18, and Jercoby Groover, 19, and was shot eight times. He was rushed into the hospital in critical condition and was told that he wasn’t going to make it. Miraculously he pulled through and was released the next day, however, soon after, he was arrested discharged into police custody and booked for a parole violation.
