TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. is renowned as one of the world’s greatest designers, so news of his return to Paris after nine years excited many. One for the insiders, attendees included the likes of sacai’s Chitose Abe and Fraser Cooke.

Taking place in an eerie old church building, soundtracked by Massive Attack, the clothing showcased exactly why the designer is so highly praised. The first few looks were streetwear with a bondage twist, followed by twisted fisherman garb with loose cable knits finished off with adornments.

In the accessories arena, there was possibly the only acceptable use of a fedora, which was split in half, used a zip fastening and made into snood. It was a small detail, but a clear sign of Miyashita’s mastery of design.

Take a look through the collection via the gallery above and watch the show in full below.

Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, we went backstage at Heron Preston’s Fall/Winter 2019 show.
