Balenciaga Brings Awareness to Threatened Species With Exclusive Farfetch Capsule
Featuring new TRACK & Speed Trainer colorways.
Fresh from dropping its first eyewear capsule, Balenciaga has teamed up with Farfetch for an exclusive new release. A key theme of the capsule is to raise awareness of threatened animal species. Pieces in the collection — including hoodies, T-shirts and bags — feature illustrations of the Northern White Rhinoceros, the Asian Elephant, the Blue Whale and the Giant Panda. Speaking about these pieces, Balenciaga CEO Cédric Charbit explained that “bringing awareness to threatend species and supporting the conservation actions of IUCN is part of our vision.”
As well as the animal-themed pieces, the exclusive collection also features Balenciaga pieces in new colors and fabrics. This includes a grafitti-print denim jacket, pre-distressed overcoats and all-over print sweatshirts. Stand-out footwear items in the collection include new colorways of both the Speed Trainer and TRACK silhouettes. The full collection is available from Farfetch now, and will be marked by Balenciaga making a donation to International Union for Conservation of Nature.
