Backstage at Kith Park's Landmark FW18 Runway Show
A closer look at the collaborative gear and meticulous styling.
KITH‘s landmark KITH PARK Fall/Winter 2018 presentation showcased an eye-popping number of collaborations. Emphasizing Ronnie Fieg‘s knack for joint efforts, a backstage look at the range revealed just how much variety informed the release, simultaneously covering nearly every aspect of contemporary streetwear.
Along with exclusives from Advisory Board Crystals, Converse, and Vans, key pieces included extensive collaborations with the likes of Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, mastermind JAPAN and Greg Lauren. Versace’s signature opulence lent itself well to tracksuits and puffer jackets saturated with blinding gold co-branding, a motif carried over to the exclusive Chain Reaction runners and hefty jewelry.
Tommy Hilfiger’s retro sweaters and jackets meshed naturally with Columbia‘s throwback adventure gear, Eastpak’s plaid shoulder bags and UGG‘s comfy boots, further complemented by Greg Lauren‘s handmade, heavily distressed American staples. Knitwear, polo shirts, college blazers and cargo pants were distressed, splattered with paint and reassembled into a surprisingly accessible blend of artisinal detailing and sportswear heritage. Meanwhile, mastermind JAPAN contributed a set of tall Vans sneakers, complete with furry lining, which made for a natural partner for the co-branded tracksuits and jacquard knit cardigans.
