The ALYX x Mackintosh FW18 Layered Formal Coat is as Utilitarian as it Gets

ALYX designer Matthew Williams is having a very productive year. Not only has his mainline brand seen growth in stockists and retailers, it’s also got the chance to collaborate with one of the sportswear heavyweights, Nike. To up the ante in the partnership realm, ALYX continued its joint-ventures alongside Mackintosh right into the Fall/Winter 2018 season.
One of the standouts in the collab is this Layered Formal Coat. It’s been handmade in Scotland from quality bonded cotton that’s designed with a structured weave. Details also include a funnel neck collar and a super functional detachable over-vest that boats large flap pockets.
The coat is available now at LN-CC for $2,290 USD. A beige version is available on the ALYX site for $2,303 USD.
