Westside Gunn's Life Remains Steady After Signing to Shady Records
He also discusses making it out of Buffalo and his recording process.
For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up with Buffalo’s rap heavy-hitter Westside Gunn to discuss life since his Shady Records major deal, his recording schedule and making it out of his hometown.
When talking about signing to Eminem’s label, Westside explains that being the first person from Buffalo to be signed to a major is huge, however, his everyday life hasn’t shifted too much. “I don’t see no difference,” he says. “You know Westside Gunn before the deal is still Westside Gunn after the deal. Only thing I can honestly say that’s different is my life in Buffalo.”
You can check out our entire Conversations With episode with Westside Gunn above. His newest project, Supreme Blientele, was released in June and is easily one of the best projects of 2018 so far. It features production from longtime collaborator Daringer along with 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, Alchemist, Statik Selektah, SADHU Gold & Hesh, Harry Fraud and Roc Marciano. Plus guest features including Anderson. Paak, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Conway, Crime Apple, Roc Marciano, Keisha Plum and ELZHI round out the whole project.
