After unveiling a music legends collection for its 20th Anniversary, Sean John returns with a full capsule for the forthcoming fall season. Within it, the influential New York-based clothier celebrates strength and integrity by paying homage to athletes Tommie Smith, John Carlos and Colin Kaepernick with its “Black is Beautiful” collection of tracksuits and ’90s streetwear staples.

“Black is Beautiful” nods to the political statements made by the three aforementioned heroes: tracksuits call to Smith and Carlos standing on the Olympic podium with their black-gloved fists in the air, while a jersey (not pictured) is inspired by the former NFL star. Additional standouts include neoprene track sets with faux suede panels, selvedge denim and cotton T-shirts emblazoned with the classic Sean John script.

“We continue to celebrate 20 years of Sean John and the fall collection for a perfect example of the power and relevance of our brand,” says Sean John President Jeff Tweedy.

Shot in the Uptown streets of NYC, the lookbook takes inspiration from P.Diddy’s style from late ‘90s and early ‘00s. In youthful vibes, models styled in oversized pieces channel the Sean John ruggedness, illustrating an old school feel juxtaposed against the city’s surroundings.

Browse the visuals above and head over to Macy’s website to purchase the full collection, ranging from $35 — $130 USD.
